Ready to break past the no-stop limits and explore what lies beyond recreational diving? The PADI Tec 40 Course is your thrilling entry into technical diving, offering the perfect blend of adventure, precision, and challenge. Set in the warm, clear waters of Roatan, Honduras, this course teaches you how to plan and execute limited decompression dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters (130 feet) using up to 50% enriched air nitrox. If you’re ready to take diving further, this is where your transition from recreational to technical begins.
What You’ll Learn

Recreational to technical transition: Understand how Tec divers think and plan
Decompression diving training: Learn to safely perform staged decompression dives
Gas management procedures: Use redundant gas supplies and plan bailout options
Technical diving equipment configuration: Set up and handle sidemount or backmount systems
Buoyancy control technical diving: Hone your position and control, even under pressure
Dive planning software: Apply digital tools to build accurate, real-world dive plans
Optional integration: Combine this with the Tec Sidemount course to increase comfort and capacity underwater
Trimix diving introduction: For those interested, we offer an intro to helium-based gas use during training
Moreover, this course sets you up perfectly for the Tec 45 Course, where you’ll increase both depth and decompression complexity.
