About me

My name is Luis Miguel, and I am a PADI Course Director and PADI Tec Trimix Instructor with a passion for teaching and inspiring divers to reach their full potential.

I was born in Santarém, Portugal, and began my diving journey in 1997 when I graduated as a diver with the Portuguese Navy. After leaving the Navy, I dedicated myself exclusively to professional diving from 1997 to 2006, undertaking a wide range of underwater projects in Portugal, Spain, and Brazil.

In 2008, I became a PADI Diving Instructor, marking the start of my mission to train and mentor divers, helping them hone their skills and achieve greater proficiency in their diving careers.

In 2010, I opened Let's Dive, a dive shop in Maceió, Brazil—a city renowned for its stunning white-sand beaches and vibrant marine life. By 2013, Let's Dive had become a PADI Dive Center, and in 2018, we earned the prestigious designation of PADI Career Development Center (CDC), making us the first and only PADI CDC in South America at the time. This achievement reflected our commitment to excellence in professional dive training.

In 2022, I decided to embark on a new chapter, leaving Brazil to expand my horizons. Today, I manage the Island Diving Center in Roatán, Honduras, where I continue to share my expertise and passion for diving in one of the world’s most breathtaking underwater destinations.

Through dedication and innovative leadership, I successfully transformed Let's Dive from a small startup into one of the most successful dive shops in Brazil.

I have been transforming the dive shop from a simple operation into a premium facility by upgrading services and enhancing customer experiences to meet the expectations of discerning divers.
